This is a nice way to head into the holidays! RHODDY Marketing Group won bronze for the Best Use of Virtual & Augmented Reality at the 2019 Experience Design & Technology Awards for our work with INNOCEAN Worldwide Canada and Kia Motors Corporation.
First of all: Lettuce? Yep, to complement its partnership with the Canadian Hockey League and a junior hockey championship, Kia built an AR activation around the funky, long-in-the-back hairdos—sometimes called “salads”—that have graced hockey players’ heads for so long. At a booth in the Scotiabank Centre, where the tournament was held, fans could add one of five different salad-inspired hockey hairstyles to an image of their face, add a jersey, and receive a customized hockey player card with their new look.
This just in: The holiday season is officially upon us which means company holiday party duties and celebrations are most likely knocking at your snowy front door. It’s the best time of the year to step away from the computer to eat, drink and most importantly be merry, right? Rally the team together and get ready to throw one heck of an epic Christmas party this year, or should we say a totally rockin’ “non-denominational holiday mixer”. Whatever tickles your fancy, get ready to dust off your ugliest oversized party sweaters and break out those trusty reindeer ears because we’re going to knock your company party socks off!
To guide you in your pursuit of company party greatness, our team of party-throwing experts here at RHODDY Marketing Group has put together a list of five show-stopping tips that will have your office amigos cheersing the night away.
Clink, clink!
Ready to tap into your inner holiday cheermeister? Without further ado, let’s get right to it!
Tip #1: Forego the annual company snoozefest, (aka dinner with a side of B-O-R-I-N-G). Instead, plan a holiday party that encourages your team to really engage and bond with each other to get the endorphins flowing! Consider putting together a fun outing like a company bowling party or even a friendly game of laser tag! Absolutely nothing gives you that warm fuzzy feeling more than stuffing your boss like a turkey after three straight strikes and making sure they never live it down, right?
Tip #2: Cater to everyone’s taste buds. Great food guarantees a great party, so when deciding on a place to host your holiday get together, make sure you’ve got menu options on hand to appease those discriminating tastes of even your most finicky co-workers.
Pro Tip: Get all hands on deck for the fun! Celebrate your team’s diversity with an “around the world potluck” that honors cuisines from everyone’s cultural background. This is a sure-fire way to learn more about the awesome people you work with every day.
Tip #3: Establish an alcohol plan. While we’re all capable of making our own decisions, establishing a drink maximum is a healthy rule of thumb when it comes to company parties. If you know your co-workers like to party a little harder with a drink in hand, be sure to have set rules in place in advance so they know exactly where things stand.
Pro Tip: Encourage a little friendly competition and host a holiday drink contest! Pair your co-workers into teams to see who can come up with the best tasting concoction and homemade recipe. Then, have a group of taste testers dishing out the awards for most delicious bartending skills.
Which leads us to our next point…
Tip #4: Rent out a limo or hire a ride share service to ensure safe trips home for everyone. This time of year, car rental services and ride share businesses have numerous packages for both sleepy drivers and those who had a few too many drinks at the bar. By planning ahead for the drive home, you’re ensuring the safety of your team while still having all the fun at the company party.
Tip #5: Last but not least, don’t get your tinsel in a tangle this year! This time of year is chalked full with hustle and bustle but your company party doesn’t have to be that way! Mix it up with themed parties with all the ugly Christmas sweaters, put on your favorite Mariah Carey Christmas playlist and get crafty with a festive photobooth for all the party planning fun.
That’s a wrap! Follow these five simple tips when planning your upcoming company holiday party or mixer this year and you should be set for a seriously good time that you and your co-workers will remember for years to come. Cheers!
